Excellent nib grind -CSI. Top notch and very pleased!

I ordered the TWSBI Diamond 580 Iris with a custom needlepoint nib grind by Kirk Speer, and it’s honestly remarkable.

I tend to write small and I usually stick to extra-fine nibs, but when I’m writing on my preferred 2 mm grid, an EF doesn’t always give me the precision I want. This needlepoint is exactly what I’ve been chasing: crisp, controlled lines without feeling scratchy.

Kirk did an astonishing job. The nib is smooth, but with the right amount of feedback—enough to let me know where the tip is on the page so I still feel in control, which makes it easier to write neatly and legibly at a small size. It’s the best of both worlds: precision and comfort.

If you write small (especially on tight grids) and you’ve ever wished an EF were just a bit more precise, this setup is a winner.

I just love this pen. It's so very pretty, and easy to ink. I love how much ink it holds. It makes the perfect journaling pen. In addition to a great pen, Kirk did a special grind for me to make it even better. Outstanding customer service all the way around.
