The Pilot Custom 743 fountain pen in Black is a timeless writing instrument that combines elegant design with exceptional performance. Crafted from glossy black resin and accented with luxurious gold trim, this classic fountain pen offers a refined and professional appearance suited for both everyday writing and treasured collections. Its larger body size, shared with the beloved Pilot Custom 823, provides a comfortable and balanced feel in the hand for extended writing sessions.
At the heart of the Custom 743 is Pilot’s impressive #15 size 14K gold nib, available in a wide variety of nib options to suit every writing style and preference. Each nib delivers Pilot’s signature smooth, effortless writing experience with remarkable precision and consistency. Unlike the vacuum-filling Custom 823, the Custom 743 utilizes the included CON-70 converter or Pilot ink cartridges for convenient filling and versatility. Presented in an elegant gift box and accompanied by a 70ml bottle of Pilot Blue ink, the Custom 743 is an outstanding choice for fountain pen enthusiasts, collectors, and anyone seeking a premium writing experience.

A quick no brainer guide in choosing nib sizes in an overly complicated fountain pen world:
If you write small, go with an EF
For the normal writer, F is the most popular
If you tend to lean on a bigger font, M will be perfect
B is for statements!! Sign a check in B, write a header in B, do some coloring/shading in B
Stub nibs are italic in writing style (have a special card or invitation to write?)
